Western Washington Sports Car Council - 2014 Season Concludes, Nominations Open

Sunday 10/19 saw a successful closing to the 2014 Championship season with DawgtoberFast drawing over 80 entries on a balmy day at Shelton.  In competition highlights, a tight FTD battle ensued with Wes Snaza narrowly besting John Burford (both in ex-FSAE cars).  PRO1 went to Bill Zerr over Glen Hernandez, and Geoff Clark was in his usual spot atop ST3.  ST2 saw an incredibly tight race between Nick Ruiz and Greg Lee, with Nick coming out on top by .005 seconds, indexed.  The UW FSAE crew had a great turnout of workers to support this event, and competitors enjoyed four runs, on-site concessions, and a 4pm finishing time.  Many drivers took advantage of the Rent-A-Student program to make more than an average number of laps; ultimate hardcore Ivan Rouzanov totaled 16 runs for the day.

Nominations are now open for WWSCC Board positions: President, Vice President, and Secretary (Treasurer Pete Peters has volunteered to continue for 2015).  If you can help out with any of these, please come to the November meeting (11/17, 7pm, Ricardo's Factoria).

Nominations are also open for our year-end special awards: the Del Hines Sportsmanship award and the Craig Anderson Heart of the Council.  Descriptions of these may be found via the "WWSCC Awards" link at the left.  The Council also recognizes a Rookie of the Year and a Worker of the Year; please submit your recommendations for those as well.  Nominations may be sent to president@wwscc.org

The WWSCC Open Meeting for rules change proposals will occur just before the regular meeting on 11/17, at 6pm, at Ricardo's Factoria.  Those wishing to propose a change should bring a dozen copies of the proposal to this meeting and be prepared to explain why it's a fantastic idea.
