Torque Steerers will be hosting "And They're Off!", and "Photo Finish", Events 1 and 2 of the 2013 WWSCC Championship Series, sponsored by Jim's Detail Shop and Garth Vadar Motorsports. The events will be held at Emerald Downs in Auburn on Saturday March 23rd and Sunday March 24th.
TS is very excited to return to this centrally located site after more than 10 years. We will be using parking lots 9, 10, 11 and 12 (on the north end of the site), giving us a half million square feet in which to play. The lot surface is unsealed asphalt, which provides a consistent, grippy surface.
Read on for details!
The scheduled times for the event are the following:
Morning session (both days):
Site opens at 7:00am.

Tech Inspection opens at 7:30am, and closes at 8:30am
Non-preregistered: $35
TS Weekend Membership: $5
WWSCC driver registration fee/rulebook: $5
Due to its non-profit tax status, TorqueSteerers requires that all participants are members of TorqueSteerers. We offer $5 Weekend Membership, which is valid for the complete weekend (Events 1 and 2.) You will only pay this fee once for the complete weekend.
About the WWSCC Driver Registration Fee:
The Western Washington Sports Car Council collects a one-time $5 fee for all participants of the 2013 WWSCC Championship Series. This money helps defray the cost of rule books and other administrative costs. You will need to pay this fee once for the whole season.
As you might expect, the location is close to the race horse stables at the Emerald Downs track. The horses do not respond well to loud noises, especially excessive tire squealing noise.
To ensure the safety of the race horses, Emerald Downs reserves the right to shut down the event at any time, and without any prior warning, if the horses become alarmed or get spooked by our activity at the site.
The safety of the horses (in addition to the safety all participants) at the facility is our primary concern.
In order to mitigate this, note the following:
- Do not perform any tire burnouts, squealing, or other loud tire noises in the paddock, pits, access roads, or anywhere in the vicinity of the Emerald Downs site. If you do, you will be asked to leave the site immediately.
- The SCCA sound limit of 100db (at 50ft) will be enforced at this event. We will be sending out more information to the list, but in the interim, please refer to supplemental rule 33 of the NWR-SCCA series for a description of this rule:

We do not expect tire and/or engine noise to be an issue at this event, but we are counting on all attendees to help us with this issue. We cannot overemphasize how important your cooperation on this issue is to the success of this event and the continued use of this site, and we thank you in advance for your observance and help with this.
